Jeremy Young Hutchinson, an associate of the Firm, works from the Little Rock office. Mr. Hutchinson is admitted to the practice in all courts in the State of Arkansas, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas. Mr. Hutchinson received his undergraduate degree (B.B.A. Economics) from Harding University and his law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he was a member of the School's Moot Court Team. He is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association, where he serves on the Legislative Task Force and Committee for a Modern Judiciary. He is also a member of the Pulaski County Bar Association, and the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce. His practice includes the areas of commercial and consumer litigation on both sides of the docket. Currently he is working in the St. Louis-based MDL against Bayer Crop Sciences for the negligent release of genetically modified rice and the Pet Food Contamination MDL. He is also a member of the firm’s litigation team that represents Union Pacific Railroad Company. He has litigated commercial banking cases involving lender liability and is assisting partner Rick Adams in representing several state pension funds and securities litigation practice. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Hutchinson also heads the firm’s government relations practice. Some of his government relations clients include: Car-Mart, Inc.; Save the Children; Arkansas Landlords Association; and the Arkansas Rural Educators Association. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Hutchinson worked as an investment banker for a local investment banking firm where he structured and sold municipal, corporate, and mortgage backed securities. He obtained his Series 7 and Series 63 licenses. He is a member of the National Bond Lawyers Association and listed in the Bond Buyer’s Municipal Marketplace Directory “Red Book.” He most recently served as co- bond counsel for an $ 11, 855,000 City of Helena- West Helena Sales and Use Tax Refunding Series of Bonds. Mr. Hutchinson also served in the Arkansas legislature from 2000- 2007. Mr. Hutchinson was term limited from serving further in the Arkansas General Assembly, but left as the most senior member of the Arkansas House of Representatives. He was elected to be the Assistant Minority Leader and served on Judiciary, Insurance and Commerce, and Joint Budget Committees. He also served on the Retirement & Pension Committee as well as the Energy Committee. Mr. Hutchinson is also a Member of the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Council on Economic Education and has served on the Board of the Arkansas Children's Scholarship Fund. He was named to Arkansas Business' 40 under 40 in 2002. |
